WAM Grants

Applications for 2025 WAM Grants open July 31, 2024.

About WAM Grants

The Wildflower Association of Michigan’s (WAM) annual WAM Grant program funds projects that support the WAM mission. Since its inception, WAM has donated approximately $150,000 to non-profit groups all around Michigan. Grants have supported schools to establish native plant gardens, assisted non-profit organizations to purchase native plants for restoration projects, provided signage to educate the public about native plants and much more. It is our desire to educate Michigan’s citizens to recognize, preserve, restore and re-create the native landscape and to pass on an appreciation and respect for our native flora.

Prior to completing your application form, please review the criteria for the grant program as well as the summary of the follow-up procedures and Final Project Report required of all recipients of WAM grants. Please review this information carefully as it may prove valuable when designing your project and submitting your application. In particular, please note the deadlines and signatures required for each application. Only applications from non-profit organizations will be considered. Improperly submitted applications will not be considered for funding. Each applicant may request up to $1,250 in support. These funds can be used to purchase plants and seeds as well as mulch, labels or signs. The application deadline is December 1,2024. At that time all required materials, including recommendation letters, must be submitted in PDF form. Decisions on award winners will be announced no later than January 31, 2025. Awardees will receive their funds at the Awards Luncheon during the  Michigan Native Plant Conference at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University. If you have any further questions pertaining to the grant application process, please email us at wamgrants@gmail.com. Only electronic submissions through e-mail will be accepted. Good luck and thank you for your interest in the WAM Educational Grant Program.
